Holiday Gifts for the Houseless 2022

On December 1st, 2022 we shared this organization with the world and announced our first fundraising initiative for a special event - Holiday Gifts for the Houseless. Our goal was to provide fifty wrapped gifts (because everyone deserves to open a present at Christmastime) filled with items a houseless person may need at this time of year along with some seasonal treats. What happened next blew us away…

We asked our supporters for donations of $25 to cover the cost of each gift. That means our total need was $1,250. Thanks to the incredible support of the community, we surpassed that goal in only three days! Thanks to the generous support of our donors, each gift box contained the following:

• a hat

• a pair of gloves

• 3 pairs of socks

• a bar of soap, bottle of hand sanitizer, lip butters & a bottle of hand lotion donated by Hope Soap

• a bag of candy/treats

• a $10 McDonald’s gift card for a hot meal

• a hand-written card

All of the moving pieces of this event finally came together on the 18th when six volunteers joined together at the Northside Marketplace in Akron to pack, wrap and distribute all of the gifts to the houseless community in Akron. In addition to the gifts, we served hot chocolate and cookies and handed out bags of chips and pairs of socks that were donated to this cause.

We are so incredibly thankful for all of the support we received from our generous donors that made this event possible and volunteers for seeing it through! Thanks to all of you, we were able to spread some holiday cheer for those who need it most.
